◆ Material Required = Beaker, Iron nails, Copper Sulphate solution.

◆ Procedure:

1. Take a beaker 100ml beaker.

2. Put the solution of copper sulphate in a beaker.

3. Add the iron nail in the solution of copper sulphate.

4. Equation = CuSO4 + Fe ---- FeSO4 + Cu

◆ Observation = Iron is the more reactive metal than the copper.

◆ Result = Iron will displace the copper.

When iron nails are kept in a copper sulphur solution the blue colour of the copper sulfate fades and the sulphur particles stick to the iron nails turning them brown in colour
