Actually a question was asked me in my exam
What is a residuary power?

I answered....
A residuary power is a power which is retrained by a government authority after other powers have been delegated to other authorities.

2. The power is distributed by the government as follows..

1.union list 2.state list 3.concurrent list

Will I get marks for this answer... Is it correct what I wrote..?.. Please reply me soon​

What is a residuary power?

A residuary power is a power which is retained by a governmental authority after certain powers have been delegated to other authorities.Residuary power are also called as reserved powers. Thus residuary power means the powers that parliament can make it as law with the respect to matters which are not mentioned in Union List, State List or Concurrent List. These types of powers are divided among the “Central government”, “the Parliament” and “the State government”.
