MP of the article=Rs.1120
Discount %=10%
⇒Discount= \frac{10}{100} of MP
⇒Discount= \frac{10}{100} * 1120
⇒Discount=Rs.112
SP=MP-Discount
⇒SP=1120-112
=Rs.1008
Let the CP of the article be x.
SP=Rs.1008 , Profit=26%
⇒Profit= \frac{26}{100} of x
= \frac{13x}{50}
In case of a profit
SP=CP+Profit
⇒1008= x+ \frac{13x}{50}
⇒1008= \frac{(50x+13x)}{50}
⇒1008= \frac{63x}{50}
⇒x=1008* \frac{50}{63} (by cross multiplication)
⇒x=50*16
⇒x=800
Ans:The Cost Price of the pair of shoes is Rs.800.

10% of MP = 10/100 × 1120
= 112
SP = 1120 - 112
= 1008
CP = ( 100 / 100+Profit %)× SP
= ( 100 / 100 + 26 ) × 1008
= 100 / 120 × 1008
= 800
CP = 800
