In triangle ACD,

tan \:  \: a \:  =  \frac{pependicular}{base}  \\ tan \: 45 \:  \:  =  \frac{cd}{ad}  \\ 1 =  \frac{cd}{100}  \\ cd \:  = 100

Area of triangle ABC = 1/2 × Base × Height

= 1/2 × 100 × 100

= 50 × 100

= 5000 cm²
