let o be the center of the circle and the perpendicular height be OX.
AD=34 cm=2.OA
OA=17 cm
AB=30 cm
AX=15cm      (by theorem)

In triangle AOX,
OX sq=OA sq -AX sq
          =289 - 225=64
OX= 8 cm
