GIVEN: Ad is altitude of an isosceles triangle ABC in which AB=AC

TO PROVE:  (i)AD bisects BC

                    (ii) AD bisects angle A​

PROOF:

       IN  ΔABD AND ACD

AB = AC (GIVEN)

AD =AD (COMMON SIDE )

∠ADB=∠ACD (EACH 90 )

BY SAS CRITERIA :

          ΔABD≅ Δ ABC

BY C.P.C.T.

           BD = CD ∴AD bisects BC

        ∠BAD=CAD ∴AD bisects angle A​
