ad is the bisector of angle A of triangle ABC if AB is equal to 2.4 ,AC is equal to 3.6 and BC is equal to 4.2 find BD

BD= 1/2 ×BC
= 1/2 ×4.2
=2.1

Through angle bisector theorem, AB/AC=BD/DC

2.4/3.6 = BD/DC

2/3 = BD/BC-BD

2/3= BD/4.2-BD

Through cross multiplication we get

8.4-2BD = 3BD.

5BD=8.4

BD=8.4/5

BD=1.68
