Answer:

Adam used Cinnamon,

Laura used pumpkin,

Paula used Nutmeg,

James used Ginger.

Step-by-step explanation:

Firstly, let's quickly convert fractions to decimals by dividing, so that, we can easily compare.

¼ cinnamon = 0.25 units

⅓ nutmeg = 0.33... units

½ ginger = 0.5 units

⅝ pumpkin = 0.625 units

I have mentioned units because, the Question hasn't specified the units of measure of mass.

Now, this is a logical puzzle.

So, here each of the 4 people used each of the 4 ingredients.

Now, Adam used the most amount of ingredients, which would mean that, his left over would be having the least Quantity.

Thus, Adam used Cinnamon (by checking above.)

Now, Laura used the least amount of ingredients, which would mean that, her leftover would be the most in Quantity,

Hence, Laura used pumpkin.

Now, we are left with nutmeg and ginger,

we are also given that, Paula used more than James,

So, Paula's leftover would be less than James's leftover

Hence out of nutmeg and ginger, nutmeg has the lesser Quantity.

Thus, Paula used Nutmeg.

which would leave us with,

James used Ginger.

Hope it helped and you understood it........All the best
