5x^2+3xy+2y^2+2y^2-xy+4x^2
=9x^2+2xy+4y^2

Here is your answer:

We know that we can add only like terms directly & rest to keep as it is.

So,

 (5x^{2}+3xy+2y^{2}) + ( 2y^{2} -xy + 4x^{2}

(5x^{2}+4x^{2}) + (3xy-xy) + (2y^{2} + 2y^{2})

→   = (9x^{2} + 2xy + 4y^{2})

Therefore 9x² + 2xy + 4y² is the answer.
