Given Data: 25 + 36 + 15.

To Find: The property used.

Solution:

  • There can be 3 properties used they are Associate Property, Distributive Property, Commutative Property.
  • All these properties have addition and multiplication formula's.
  • In Distributive Property we use multiplication to find the sum.
  • The Purpose of using properties is the sum will be same but the method will be different.
  • With the given data, consider a = 25, b = 36, c = 15.
  • Associate Property for addition - (a + b) + c = a + (b + c).
  • (25+36)+15 =25+(36+15)    ; which results in 76.
  • Commutative Property with addition -  a + b = b + a.
  • Adding first 2 numbers or last 2 numbers is equal to the same result.
  • 61 + 15 = 25 + 51  ;   result is 76.
  • Distributive Property with addition -  a(b + c) = ab + ac.
  • 25(36+15) = 25(36)+ 25 ( 15)    ;   The result is same as LHS and RHS, 1275.
