Answer :

Let, the number be A

By the given conditions,

2A + 3 = \frac{A}{2} - 9

⇒ 2A + 3 = \frac{A - 18}{2}

⇒ 2 (2A + 3) = A - 18

⇒ 4A + 6 = A - 18

⇒ 4A - A = - 18 - 6

⇒ 3A = - 24

⇒ A =  - \frac{24}{3}

\therefore \bold{A = - 8}

So, the required number is ( - 8 )

Let the number be 'x'.

Adding 3 to twice of a number is the same as subtracting 9 from half the number.

= > 2x + 3 = (x/2) - 9

= > 2(2x + 3) = x - 18

= > 4x + 6 = x - 18

= > 3x = -24

= > x = -8.

Hope this helps!
