its a physical change..because we can separate out salt! by osmosis.

adding salt in water is a physical change.

physical change is a type of change which is reversible. means we can get back the exact same substance back. there's no chemical reaction involved during physical process and no new substance is formed while adding salt in water.

we can get back salt/separate salt and water by the process of evaporation and condensation. evaporate the solution of salt solution in a beaker. the water will evaporate and we can get back the salt left in the beaker and by condensation process, we can get back the water too.

so no new substance is formed. only change in size, shape and position.

hence, it's a physical or reversible change.
