When HCl is added in zinc granules,zinc sulphate is formed and Hydrogen gas is evolved

This reaction is an example of the reaction between an active metal and a dilute acid to give salt of the acidand Hydrogen gas. ... Thezinc granules are not a pure source of zinc .It contains trace amounts of phosphorous and arsenic ,which when reacted withdilute hydrochloric acidliberate arsine and phosgene
