Addition and multiplication arecommutative for both Whole numbersand Integers. If a and b are rational numbers, and a + b = b + a, then we can say that addition is commutative. Similarly if , then we say that multiplication is commutative. Hence, addition and multiplication arecommutative for rational numbers.
