Adivasis lived and continue to live in forests or in close relation with forests. Forests provide many natural resources needed for development of a country and its people. These can be acquired only when the forests are cut down. When forests are cut down, we get, paper, timber, land, etc. We get land and timber for building homes, but the Adivasis lose their homes as they live in forests. They are heavily dependent upon forests for almost everything. They have ancestral links with the forests they live in. They have to give forests fot the development of others and the country. Sometimes, forests are forcefully taken away from them. This is the heavy price they pay for development of other sections of society.
