Meidingu Khagemba (1597–1652) was known as the

- "Conqueror of the Chinese"

- He  expanded his father's kingdom of Meitrabak

- He successfully defended it from foreign invaders such as the Muslims, the Kachari ,  Shans of Kabaw Valley.

Reforms included: The change in form of governing system, like  After the war, the Manipur Constitution Act, 1947 was built up. In this an equitable type of government with the Maharaja as the Executive Head and a chosen assembly was made.

2. To bring economic stability in his empire he introduced a new Bell metal currency in his kingdom.
