The adrenal gland is a endocrine gland situated above the pair of kidneys. It secrets the hormone called adrenaline which is also called flight or fight hormone since it prepares the body to take action in severe circumstances of fear, anger etc.
The adrenal gland releases this hormone directly into blood stream, fasten the breathing rate, risen the heart rate, maximise the amount of oxygen passing into muscles, blood in the digestive system and skin is reduced due to contraction of muscles around small arteries in and around the heart.
