Advantage and disadvantage of application of electric drive

Electric drives are most useful part of robots. For movement of different parts of robot like arm, leg, wheels the electric drives and motor are used. Electric drives are controlled by computer or micro controller. It can be used very easily in robots and they are more accurate than other type of robots.

Advantages:

• Electric drives are small in size. thus, space required for them is less.
• Electric drives are environmental friendly.
• Electric drives contribute very less air and noise pollution in the environment.
• Electric drives are highly precise.
• Electric drives are easily available and can be charged easily

Disadvantages:

• Electric driver creates friction in conventional driving.
• Electric driver provide very less power in the output.
• Electric drives needs very large and heavy motor which becomes very costly.
