Advantage and disadvantage of neural network

*Pros:

1.Relatively easy to use
2.Can approximate any function,
3.regardless of its linearity
4.Great for complex/abstract problems like image recognition
5.Mimics the brain (but there is some controversy over the degree of this)


*Cons:

1.Often abused in cases where simpler solutions like linear regression would be best
2.Requires a pretty load of training and cases
3.Black box that not much can be gleaned from
4.Increasing accuracy by a few percent can bump up the scale by several magnitudes.
