Advantages:

Some of the benefits of learning how to use abacus for kids include sharpens brain, good exercise tool for the brain, teaches speed and accuracy in Mathematics, makes the kid good at academics, improves child's concentration, activates the brain sensors,promotes photographic memory and improves child's logical.

Abacus learning not only helps with the basic calculations like addition, multiplication, subtraction, and division, it also helps in effective counting of decimal points, negative numbers, etc. When students learn to use an abacus, they use their hands and a tool with beads to calculate numbers.

Disadvantages:

Abacus hinders children understanding of math as it turns them into a machine which can mentally calculate very fast. “Children are already so much burdened with Math, futher Abacus makes it more impossible for them”

Abacus math skills demand lot of time for practice as regular practice is must when it come to deliver mental math skills already we have so much to do kids have no time left for playing out doors already due these gadgets of time. And it is teally difficult to mange kids now a days. “It is really time killing”

Disadvantages:

  • Abacus won’t keep consist results sometimes for large calculations of numbers.
  • Abacus is heavy so it is difficult to carry.  
  • It takes so much time to learn the things in Abacus.
