Advantages and disadvantages of delta modulation

Advantages of delta modulation:
One of the major advantage of the delta modulation is consumption of low bandwidth .
Data can be timely delivered by using it.
Also it is a cost effective technique and can be used if financial problems there.

Disadvantages:
One of the important draw back is slope overload distortion which occur due to large dynamic ranges of the input signal.
 
The other disadvantage is production of granular noise in using it  which usually occur as the result of large step size.
