Hey mate ,, Here is the required answer O_O

FRICTION : It is a force that holds back the movement of a sliding object.,  or it can be said that friction is a force which opposes the motion of the object ..

ADVANTAGES :-

i) Friction is extremely required for stopping a vehicles ..or u can say brakes,, when applied >stops a vehicle at a certain point ,,,yes, it is the friction between the brakes and the wheels .

ii ) Friction is also required for writing >> in another words when you write with a pen or a pencil, the friction between your pen and the paper helps to write properly. (Try to write on marble with a pen , what will you find ?? u can't write because- Friction lacks there.

iii) Friction helps you to walk ,as the above example friction also plays a vital role in walking .

DISADVANTAGES :-

i ) Friction can also be harmful at times . For ex-  Friction produced in the vehicle's engine makes it hot and some energy is also wasted in the form of heat energy .

ii)   Friction is also unhelpful as if you don't lubricate your bike regularly with oil, the friction in the chain and axles increases. Your bike will be noisy and difficult to pedal. When there is a lot of friction between moving parts, energy is lost to the surroundings as heat. ( same condition as mentioned above )

iii) Due to friction we, sometimes have to apply more energy which is often not required ..
