A Wheatstone Bridge is not a method for grinding wheat flour but is a device for measuring electrical resistance very accurately and through different configurations measure, inductance, impedance, capacitance, and even temperature by means of a thermistor as a resistance source.

The Wheatstone Bridge for many years was the only way to measure electrical resistance and can still oft times be more accurate than a traditional ohmmeter. This is an advantage as is the variety of measurements that it can make in its different configurations. Another advantage is that the current and thus voltage across the end points of the bridge, meaning the resistance in the detector portion, is zero and becomes irrelevant and not a source of error when making measurements. A disadvantage lies in that it is not suitable for measuring large resistances. It can be non-linear in readout if the bridge circuit is "unbalanced". It also is not as easy to use as a traditional and popular ohmmeter
