Ellingham diagram is actually a graph which shows the temperature dependence of the stability of compounds. It helps in evaluating the ease of reduction of metal oxides as well as sulfides. Ellingham diagram was constructed by "Harold Johann Thomas Ellingham'' in the year 1944.
Limitations;
1) Ellingham diagram does not consider kinetics of the reactions.
2) Also, It can't provide us full information about oxide formation, if more than one oxides are possible.

Its application / limitations
→ it does not say about the kinetics of reduction process
