Advantages of hybridization​ are as follows:

  • The yield can be increased by hybridization.
  • Another advantage of hybridization is- to form organism's best part two species get combined. It eliminates the both parent species' unwanted qualities.

In the process of hybridization, two organisms or animals or plants belonging to different species are allowed to cross so that the progeny possess the characters of both the organisms. This process results in many advantages.

1. The hybridization process helps in increasing the yield.

2. During this process, the unwanted characters or qualities gets eliminated from the both the parent organisms. This results in progeny having only the desired qualities.

3. The progenies produced by this process acquires various qualities like resistant to diseases and stress, etc.
