Although modern methods of irrigation are more efficient,old methods also have some advantages.They are as follows-
•It used very efficient source of power that is only labour.It didn't required electricity or fuel.
•Old methods of irrigation didn't had any adverse effect on enviroment.But nowadays motor used in irrigation runs on fuel which gives out many harmful gases.
