RTI stands for Right to Information. This was passed as an independent Act by Indian Government in the year 2005.

This is a right provided or empowered to the people of our nation or to a much better extent the consumers and customers of our nation by the Government using which they can write to a Government body or Public authority and ask for having the correct information about any product, service or any related activity and the same has to be answered within 30 working days.

This is one of those rights that has empowered the nationals and given a sense of involvement of each and everyone of them in the happenings rightfully and justifiably.

RTI has been implied ever since it’s inception though with both advantages as well as disadvantages/drawbacks which is but obvious in a nation of more that 100 crores of population and vivid requirements and needs of each one of them.

Advantages of RTI:

Empowerment of the common man: The entire range of common man in the nation has been empowered by such an initiative in which they have got the full rights to be informed about anything that affects their life directly or indirectly and the responsible bodies have to answer them positively.Easy mode of spreading information rightfully: The RTI has incubated a very concrete and easy mode of spreading information of all kind in all form where apt information will be received by only the person concerned and this will in turn result in easy accessibility to information on one hand and time conservation of all.Protection of Information: Since, the selected people with selected queries will be entertained and informed rightfully and aptly, so this will lead to protection of information thereby protecting everyone from being wrongly or inappropriately informed or misinformed.
