Advice to a grade 12 learner on how to find a balance between the new found freedom and responsibility behavior

Dear 12 grade learner, I feel I must give you a few pieces of nuggets of wisdom that will always stand you in good stead to live your life to the fullest and to extract the most out of every moment for the welfare and well-being of the self and all.

First of all a word of caution

You might feel tempted and over the top of the world on account of this feeling of freedom that you might be feeling in your young heart. Let me caution you, this is not freedom at all. You are feeling this exuberance and vibrancy on account of the youthfulness given to you by God and his Universe. This freedom, energy, and enthusiasm have been given to you to accomplish something great in life. This zeal you feel inside your veins and nerves is to help you reach a level of skills with which you can make this world a better place. This energy, zeal, and vigor are not to be squandered in carnal pleasures, idle gossip, and trivialities of life, which you may feel greatly attracted to. Let me caution you, God Who gave you this life gift for the purpose of accomplishing something great, might withdraw this gift anytime if you misuse this gift. So, always use this gift for the amelioration of the self, fellow people, animals, trees, natural resources, and all life.

Your Responsibilities

Let me warn you at your age you don’t give much heed to your responsibilities. However, it is my duty to remind you have many responsibilities that you must not only always be aware of, but also do them enthusiastically. Here are your responsibilities:

1. Parents: You have utmost responsibility towards your parents. They are the ones who look after all your survival, financial, emotional, and all types of needs. They are the ones who love you truly and unconditionally, so you must not do anything that might hurt them directly or indirectly.

2. Studies: Your studies are the base on which you build the edifice of your career and life. If this base is solid, resilient and strong, you can accomplish anything great in life. Without brilliance in studies, it is impossible to accomplish anything great in life in any field. So, you must shoulder this responsibility sincerely.

3. God: God is the creator of this life. Whatever we enjoy, it is because of HIM. You must solve the mysteries related to GOD. If you succeed in lifting the veils hiding GOD. You are going to live an amazing life.

4. Nation, world, and society: We owe so many things to our nation, world, and society. It is our responsibility to do something good for them in return. We must contribute our share in making our nation, world, and society a better place.

These are a few things that you must always ponder over, and there will automatically be a balance between the feelings of freedom and a sense of responsibility in your heart. I hope you will pay heed to my advice.
