Ae can easily move our hand in air but not through a block of wood .why

because air is a gas and wood is a solid. And the particles of solids have less molecular space and high force of attraction as compared to gases

Air is a gas, it has more space in between particles. But solid block of wood is rigid, hence it is difficult to move our hands through it.
