Areolar Tissue :

It is the basic and most widely distributed connective tissue in which fibres are loosely arranged in mesh work.

It matrix is Jelly like and contains 4 type of cells and three types of fibre.

Location :

Areolar tissue is Found below the skin in the Kidneys and testis and surrounds the muscle bundles blood vessels etc.

Functions :

It is a binding tissue.
It binds various tissues together in an organ.
It helps in the repair of body tissues after injury.
Mast cells are associated with allergic reactions.
