Catalytic hydrogenation means treatment of hydrogen in the presence of any second element playing a role as a catalyst is known as catalytic hydrogenation.

catalytic hydrogenation:- the process in which unsaturated hydrocarbons take H2 in the presence of catalysts (nickel and palladium) to form saturated hydrocarbons is called catalytic hydrogenation.
