ATQ,
x+12 = 3(x-4)
x+12 = 3x-12
3x-x = 12+12
2x = 24
x = 12.
so,
present age is 12

Let the present age be x .

By given condition
After 12 years and Before 4 years

means x + 12 and x - 4

( x + 12 ) =3 ( x - 4 )

x + 12 = 3x - 12

12 + 12 = 3x - x

2x = 24

therefore x = 12



So the present age is 12 years .
