Given :-

• A shopkeeper allows a discount of 15%

• A shopkeeper gains profit of 25%

• Marked price of an article = 800

Solution :-

Here,

We know that the shopkeeper gains profit of 15% .

Therefore,

15/100 * 800 = 120

The shopkeeper allows a discount of Rs 120.

Now, Calculate the CP

CP = MP - Discount

Put the required values in the formula,

CP = 800 - 120

CP = 680

Therefore,

The Cost price of an article is Rs680 .

Now , Calculating profit

Profit = Profit % / 100 * CP

Profit = 25 / 100 * 680

Profit = Rs 170

Hence, A shopkeeper gains a profit of Rs170 .
