Hi. After a person's death, both hair and nails stop growing because after death, all the body processes stop. They don't actually grow but appear to be long as the skin near them has shrunken. Hope it helps.

Answer:

Hair and fingernails may appear longerafter death, but not because they are still growing. Instead, a personsfingernails and hair may appear longer because the skin around them has retracted, according to theDermatology Clinic at UAMS. After death, dehydration causes the skin and other soft tissues to shrink.

Hope it's helpful for you mate
