A homeopathy doctor said these words to the narrator. His income was meager at that time. In reference to that, he said these words.

EXPLANATION:

It was the narrative from the story ‘The snake and the mirror’. A homeopathy doctor shares his experience with a cobra to the narrator. He was poor. He explained his financial status through these words. Though he was a doctor, he could not earn more. He lived in a rented house in which there is only one room.

He had one suitcase with only sixty rupees and one pair of dress. On a summer night, he reached home and sat on the table and he lit the kerosene lamp. The house was not electrified those days. He heard a strange sound twice.

He thought it might be the sound of rats. Suddenly a rubber tube-like thing fell on his shoulders. It was a snake. He got terrified but he did not move or shout. He sat still. There was a mirror on the table. The snake suddenly turned his head and went to see its own reflection in the mirror. The doctor ran away from that room.
