Sinhala community or Sinhalese-the Buddhist dominant and aboriginal community of Sri Lanka witnessed supremacy after the Independence of Sri Lanka.
During the British rule, the Tamil community gained much favors and rose to prominence but after the independence the Sinhalese witnessed superman.
The Sinhalese began to dominate government, spread their language and culture through government favors and also demonized the Tamil language and culture. They reduced the Tamils in government employment and higher education.
