Mrs. Van Daan was a stereotypical wife. Initially, she appeared friendly and teasing to Anne Frank, but later on, called her an instigator. She is a fatalist and petty. She was egotistical and always complaining, somewhat flirtatious and disagreeable. She always kept on complaining about her family which Anne hated the most about her. She could not survive the war and she was a subject of hatred to Anne.
