Total income = 100%
Spent income = 80%
Remaining income = 20%
10% of remaining income is given to charity which is 2%
i.e 10 percent of 20 is 2
Income give to charity = 2%
Final remaing income = 20-2 = 18%
Given that the man is left with 46260
Therefore remaining 18% income is 46260
1% of income is 2570
Therefore the total income is 257000
The answer is 257000
Hope it helps.

Let the man's income be x

80% of x = 80/100 × x  0.8x

Remaining Amount of the man's salary will:

x - 0.8x = 0.2x

Find 10% of the remainder:

10% of 0.2x = 10/100 × 0.2x = 0.02x

Add the the two to find the total he has used from his salary

0.8x + 0.02x = 0.82x

Therefore this man has used 0.82x of his salary. Find the remainder:

x - 0.82x = 0.18x

Therefore what is left of his salary = 0.18x ( we are given that what is left of his salary is 46260)

Hence:

0.18x = 46260
x = 46260/0.18

x= 257,000

Therefore this man's salary was 257,000
