The answer is True.
After the fourth Anglo-Mysore War, Tipu’s family was sent to the Fort of Vellore. Following the king’s death, his family comprising many daughters and 13 sons along with their families were exiled to Vellore. This place was quite different from Mysore in all ways including climate. The retreat was led by Tipu Sultan’s eldest son Shahzada Hyder Ali Sultan Sahib and took place in various batches. The first batch retreated in June 1799 and the last retreat was completed by 1800/1801.
