We have been given that Ram firstly walks 20Km in the North direction and then 45 Km in the South direction.

We can conclude that he moves in N-S direction on a straight line path.

Let the point he started to walk from be the origin.

When he walks 20 Km to the North and 45 Km in the South, he re-traces some of the path he travelled earlier back.

Therefore, the Displacement would be less than the Distance Travelled.

Distance = The total path travelled

= 20 + 45

= 65 Km

Displacement = Distance from origin to the final position.

= 45 - 20

= 35 Km
