SILVER CANNOT REACT WITH DILUTE ACIDS.

Sorry for the caps. I am concerned since the other answers assume that silver does reacts with HCl when it doesn't. In fact, we use dilute HCl to “clean” our silver and gold accessories. Imagine silver does react with HCl; your silver necklace will get lighter with each cleaning.

Silver is not able to reduce the H+ ions into H2 gas.

Ag + HCl →no reaction.
