Let son's age be x (before 10 years)

Let father's age be 3x (before 10 years as he is 3 times his son's age)

2(x+20)=(3x+20)

2x+40=3x+20

40-20=3x-2x

20=1x

Father's age before 10 years=60

Son's age before 10 years=20

After 10 years

Father's age=70

Son's age=30
