age of son = x
age of father= 4x
after 5 year the age of father will be 4x+5
and age of son will be x+5
a.q. 4x+5=3(x+5)
= 4x+5=3x+15
=4x-3x=15-5
=x=10.
age of son is 10 now and father is 40 now.

verify.
now age of son to pa is 10 to 40 I.e. pa is 4x after 5 years son will be 15 and pa 45 I.e. 3x.

Answer:

The present age of son's is 10 years

And the present age of father's is 40 years.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the age of son's be x and father be y

According to the first condition

y=4x..............1

According to the second condition

5 years hence

Age of father's will be =3 times his son

4x+5=3(x+5)

Or,

4x+5=3x+15

Or,

4x-3x=15-5

x=10

Putting the value of x in equation 1 we get,

4×10

=40

So, the present age of father's is 40 years

And

The present age of son's is 10 years
