Aggradation results in an increase in height of the river bed because of sediment accumulation on the river channel. On the other hand, degradation causes the channel banks to get shifted and lower the river bed. It is very unlikely that aggradation and degradation will take place together. If at all this happens, the height of the river bed will be at par with the height of the water in the river. Also, the chances of floods and droughts will be very less.
