The main reason behind why agriculture is not practiced on hilly areas is because plants that grow needs a suitable temperature which is not available on mountainous areas as it is too cold there ..

The mountains are usually very steep so there are more chances for soil erosion so that we cannot do agriculture there.

Deforestation, roads, climate changes are the most common reason for soil erosion.

There are many problems caused by this soil erosion like the death of animals.
