Agrumental essay: Democracy is profitable to everyone in society or not?

Answer:
Argumentative” does not necessarily mean “negative.” It’s really just the term for making a strong case. A thesis statement might go, “When living in a society of social justice, democracy is profitable to society in these eleven ways.” You list the eleven in the intro, then in the body you lay out all the positive things.
What makes it “argumentation” is the writer needs to address any strong opposing points that may exist, and the writer must refute them with facts and logic. Doing so does not have to be “negative.”
One of the eleven points might be, “In a just society, every person convicted of a crime receives the same punishment.” Showing that our current system is not just supports that specific, one-of-eleven, point. Injustice is shown using mere facts with no emotion. The piece shows that poor people of color receive disproportionately harsh sentences when compared to rich whites. Simple facts, supported using the 14th Amendment, with “all persons” get equal treatment. It doesn’t have to be mean. Just clear.
