GIVEN :-

Speed of Amhed's car (v) = 72 km/h = 20 m/s

Time taken (t) = 1 min = 60 s

TO FIND :-

The distance covered(s) by Ahmed in 1 minute.

FORMULA TO BE USED :-

  • Distance = Speed × Time
  • ⇒Speed = Distance/Time
  • ⇒v = s/t

SOLUTION :-

Applying the formula above by putting the known values :-

Distance = 20 × 60

⇒s = 1200 m

⇒s = 1.2 km

\rule{200}{2}

◙ Distance is the total length of the path between the initial position and the final position.

◙ Speed of an object is the magnitude of the change of its position.

◙ Time, distance and speed are scalar quantities. This means, they don't need a direction for determining them.

Given :-

Speed of car(s) = 72km/h

Time (t)= 1 minute = 60 seconds

To find :-

The distance covered by car in the given time

Formula used

\bigstar{\boxed{\sf{speed = \dfrac{Distance }{Time }}}}

Speed :- Speed is defined as the movement of body per unit time.

•It is scalar quantity ( only magnitude no direction )

•SI unit of speed is m/s

  • Convert 72km/h in m/s

\implies\sf \cancel{72}\times \dfrac{5}{\cancel{18}}= 4\times 5 \\ \\ \implies\sf speed = 20m/s

Time = 60 sec

Now find the distance !

\implies \sf Speed= \dfrac{Distance}{Time}\\ \\ \implies\sf  20 = \dfrac{Distance }{60}\\ \\ \implies\sf 20\times 60 = Distance \\ \\ \implies\sf 1200 = Distance \\ \\ \bullet\sf Convert \ into \ km\\ \\ \implies\sf Distance= 1.2km

\underline{\textsf{ \dag\ Distance \ covered \ car = {\textbf{ 1.2\ km}}}}
