AIM : Finding the value of ‘g’ experimentally.
Theory: We know, the value of g is 9.8m/sec^2,
Now we are going to prove it experimentally,
with the help of equation of motion.
Here we consider the free fall of a object,
neglecting the air resistance.
Materials required :
1. A ball (made of rubber, plastic, wood etc)
2. A measuring tool( a scale, a measuring tape
etc)
3. A stopwatch
Procedure: Take different heights in your room.
You can take different tables, almirahs, or you
can mark the heights in wall.
Start from 0.5 m height and can go up to 3m
height. Take at least 6 different heights in this
range. Make the ball fall from that height and
note the time when it reaches and hits the
ground.
After getting the ‘t’ for each value of ‘h’ you can
use equation of to find the value of ‘g’.
Verify the experimental value of ‘g’ with
theoretical value.
: Make the table :

Observation - Value of height(h) in (m) - Time taken in sec - Value of"g" formula to
calculate
Average
value of
‘g’
