Materials Required: Samples of soil or sand from different places (town, village, roadside or riverbed) and a bar magnet Location (town/village/ Iron particles sticking to the.

Procedure: Take all the samples roadside or riverbed) magnet (many/very few/none) one-by-one and roll the magnet in each. Pull out the magnet and shake it gently so that the particles of sand or soil are removed.

Carefully, observe the magnet. You may find some particles sticking to it. These are iron particles.
