AIM: To demonstrate the process of osmosis by using potato strips.
Material required: A spoon, some sugar, some salt, a knife, a raw
potato, 3 cups, some water and a ruler.
Procedure: 1.Cut the raw potato into three strips of equal size.
2. Measure the length of potato strips on any one side.
3. Fill the cups with water.
4.To the first cup add 2-3 spoon of salt and to the second cup add 2-3
spoon of sugar.
5. Mix till the salt and sugar is dissolved in the water in the cups.
6. Leave the water in the third cup as it is without adding anything in it.
7. Now place one strip of potato in each cups.
8 .Leave the potato strips in the cups overnight.
9.Remove the strips from the cups and check for any changes they have undergone.
Now record the observations and also write in detail about the whole
activity on A-4 sheet only. Also paste some pictures of performing
this activity.
